PRP Facial

What is a PRP Facial™?

The PRP Facial™ is an advanced skincare treatment method that harnesses your body’s own natural power to heal itself. The procedure uses blood from the patient’s own body to infuse the skin with growth factors, which triggers the production of collagen. The result is skin that is firmer, tighter, and more youthful.

How it works

Every human has growth factors. They are inside of platelets, which are inside of plasma, which is inside our blood. Growth factors are our body’s rescue team. They are responsible for creating scabs, for example, when we need to stop bleeding. When the power of growth factors is used in regards to a facial, the wound repair process results in building new collagen, which our bodies stop producing as we age.

Treatment process

PRP Facial™

To begin, when you arrive for your PRP Facial in Indianapolis, the practitioner cleanses your skin and administers a topical anesthetic, which minimizes any discomfort during the microneedling part of the treatment.

Next, the practitioner draws a small amount of blood from a vein, usually in the arm. She places the blood within a centrifuge and separates the red blood cells from the platelet-rich plasma in layers.

Finally, the practitioner draws the platelet-rich plasma into a syringe so that it can be incorporated into the rest of your treatment. During the microneeedling treatment, the platelet-rich plasma infuses into your skin. This means that there is no risk of an allergic reaction, as the treatment simply uses your own blood. The result is glowing skin that is rejuvenated and radiant.

Microneedling with PRP

PRP Facial™

Microneedling creates micro-injuries to stimulate the body’s natural wound-healing process while minimizing cellular damage. This results in an effective remodel of scar tissue, while keeping the overall structure of the skin intact.

Microneedling is clinically shown to safely and effectively treat facial acne scars. The practitioner applies PRP during the microneedling treatment. The growth factors in the PRP assist in healing.
